 The Task: To define and explore what makes a photograph or work of art erotic.

Type EROTIC or EROTICA into any search engine and most of what you see will not be erotic. It is an insult to the intelligence of the viewer; most commercial sites seem to believe the definition lies some where in four square inches of a Barbie clones’ anatomy. If that is not what makes your clock tick, then what does?

Each month, or more often if time and input allows, I will try to post examples of what my viewers find erotic. Each posting will revolve around a central theme furnished by you the viewer. This is your chance to share your vision. Submissions can be in the form of theme ideas or emailed photographs. If need be I will provide an address for you to send photographs, negatives or slides for scanning. Like all infants, this site needs nurturing to flourish. So send your submissions It’s your baby too.

As of last count LaSatyr has had around 85000 visitors, and only 2 or 3 contributions. It's okay I don't mind posting my own work, but I was hoping to share the work of other amateur photographers and artists. I still look forward to and appreciate your submissions.

I have reacently found a 1940s somthing 4X5 Deardorff in Craig's list. I'm at present amassing parts to restore the old girl.

As the restoration progresses, I will post photos in a section of this site.

If you are not familiar with This American icon, do a web search. Deardorff cameras played a significant role in photographic history world wide. Now relegated to the realm of fine art these versatile beauties wear the backbone of the commercial photographic industry.
